How can the world become a better place for all of us? This question was the focus of the large-scale exhibition "Future World" in the Apparatehaus of the Modular Festival from June 6 to 8, 2025, for the second time since 2023.
Under the motto "Pitch Yourself on the Modular," the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences (THA) and its THA_funkenwerk launched an internal competition for innovative projects. An external jury evaluated the numerous submitted projects:
Jürgen Enniger, Head of Culture, World Heritage, and Sports for the City of Augsburg,
Lea Thies, Director of the Günter Holland School of Journalism,
Saskia Reuter, CEO of Aluco, and Andreas Zeitz, both members of the Augsburg Junior Chamber of Commerce.

The 10 best projects were sent to the festival to publicly present their visions of the future:
The Werewolves of 7Tischwald, Drone Harmonics, EDUHACK, Heyv, Klangkörper, NuCollect, OTHER JOINTS, Pongflict, Sticky Statement, and Science & Fiction.
Embedded in the Apparatehaus industrial monument, our scenography of hundreds of plants, typographic displays, scaffolding stands, and a chill-out area encouraged the approximately 25,000 festivalgoers to engage in lively interaction with the more than 60 THA students and staff over three days.
A special highlight was the specially developed "Bike Sequencer": Festivalgoers can hop on one of four colorful upcycled bikes and jointly control the sound and images in real time. Each bike triggers a different layer of the audiovisual composition, from drums to vocals and bass to synthesizers, transforming synchronized pedaling into a collaborative creative performance. When all four riders maintain the right tempo, a special "Party Mode" is activated, transforming the Apparatehaus into an immersive celebration of collective movement, rhythm, visuals, and sound.
Additional sounds for the Bike Sequencer: Umme Block, Adrian Ludwig, Stefan Bässler – thanks a lot!
And also thanks to Bastian Rögele for letting us use his shots!
